Hayling Island lies on the Sussex-Hampshire boarder separating the wildlife rich Chichester Harbour and the historic Langstone Harbour. Both of which provide amazing opportunities and challenges for canoeists.
Join us for a small-group guided trip around this wonderful environment. This trip is a perfect opportunity for experienced inland water canoeists to step into a more challenging environment to gain experience and knowledge on how to safely explore.
The exact nature of the trip will vary based on the conditions on the day, tides and participant ability. This may change on the day. The trip may include:
Circumnavigation of Hayling island, a 22km trip running with the tides taking in Langstone Harbour, Chichester Harbour and Hayling seafront.
Exploring the history and wildlife of one or both Harbours. From (Formally) floating WW2 concrete harbours to seal and bird spotting.
Develop your canoe skills in open water.
Taking the opportunity to do some canoe sailing.
Please note: This Trip is not suitable for Beginners! You need to be confident paddling distances of over 15km and comfortable in winds of force 3 (13mph) either Solo or Tandem.
Canoeing has a rich history and a wide range of skills to explore which allows it to be something different for everyone.
Whether you want to learn to paddle your canoe Solo, have a skills brush up or want to really explore the diverse range of skills and techniques available to the canoeist. These Individual or small group days are what you need.
We will be running these at several venues (which may change due to the weather) to give you the chance to chose your learning environment from Inland river to open water. The day will start with a chat about where you are in your canoeing journey then we will come up with a plan for the day to best develop your skills. The content and coaching will be tailored to your goals and aspirations. We will finish the day with where to go next.
Sessions will run with just 1 participant and never more than 4 participants. The day runs from 10:00-16:00.
We provide Hou Prospector Canoes, along with access to paddles, sails, poles and any other kit you may need for these day. Licences and launching fees are included.
If you want to get in touch to discuss your needs further, please drop us an email or give us a call.
